As you may have noticed, the lesson plans found in the Study and Teaching Courses are different from the lesson plans found in the CFI, CFII, and MEI Checkride Lesson Plan Courses.
Why are they Different?
The CFI, CFII, and MEI Checkride Lesson Plans are built to mirror the content and order of their respective ACS/PTS. This means, that they are very organized and helpful for teaching those lessons on Flight Instructor Checkrides.
However, we do not believe these lesson plans are in the best format for actual student learning. Many of the topics in the CFI, CFII, and MEI ACS/PTS are very, very lengthy (poor for student retention), in an order that is not the most practical for student understanding, and contain a lot of repeated information (the same topics in many of the lessons).
So, while the contents between the different course lesson plans are the same, the Study/Teaching Courses contain shorter, more practical versions for students. Whereas, the Checkride Lesson Plan Courses are better for specifically teaching during the Flight Instructor Checkride Exams.
